Mechanical properties of polyethylene matrix composites with areca fruit peel powder filler (Areca catechu) and sugar cane fiber (Saccharum officinarum L)

Abstract Utilization of betel nut peel waste and sugarcane fiber has not been maximized so that the purpose this study was to determine characteristics mechanical properties, tensile strength bending polyethylene matrix composite with powder filler. In study, variation ratio volume used is: (0%: 10%), (10%: 0%), (5%: 5%). The fibers previously were modified 2% NaOH treatment for each fiber. results test 10% 34.876 MPa, areca husk 28.109 5% 12.104 MPa.
